Meet Oral Surgeon Dr. Andreasen

Dr.AndreasonDr. Andreasen completed dental school at the University of Iowa in 1992. He then enrolled in a general practice residency program at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis Minnesota were he developed his interest in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. As he completed the application process for residency training programs, Dr. Andreasen further honed his surgical skills in a clinical fellowship at the Veterans Administration Medical Center/University of Minnesota.

After completion of his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at the University of Minnesota in 1998, Dr. Andreasen joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota. He was involved with several practice settings during his tenure at the University. Dr. Andreasen was clinic director, director of student education and involved with resident training and various continuing education and research projects. Dr. Andreasen was a cofounder of a national review course for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons in 2001 and lectured for several years on subjects of dentoalveolar surgery, trauma and wound healing. Dr. Andreasen joined Dr. Stephen E. Gadient in his offices in Roseville and North Oaks in 2001. He established a continuing eduction program for area dentists through the St. Paul District Dental Society and is a leader in a local SPEAR education group.

Dr. Andreasen is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a Fellow of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and a member of the American Dental Association. Dr. Andreasen served as an officer of the Executive Council of the St. Paul District Dental Society. He currently holds staff appointments at the HealthEast System, Children’s Hospital in St. Paul, United Hospital in St. Paul, and Fairview University/Riverside, Regions Medical Center and Hennepin County Medical Center.

Dr. Andreasen’s wife, Dr. Cynthia Strand is a general dentist at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Her practice is focused on treating special needs patients.
